Welcome to the website of the Chemical Stress Ecology group which consists of people from the department of Aquatic Ecology and Water Quality Management of Wageningen University and which cooperates closely with the Environmental Risk Assessment group of Wageningen Environmental Research.

Chemical stress ecology can be defined as the scientific study of the consequences of chemically induced changes within a biological system on the distribution and abundance of living organisms and the interactions among organisms and between organisms and their environment.

Please have a look at the video explaining the ECORISK2050 project. The ECORISK2050 ITN project is coordinated by WU and studies the effects of global change on the emission, fate, effects and risks of chemicals in aquatic ecosystems.
