Teaching materials

Below you can find 9 clips on the effects of chemicals at different levels of biological organisation, i.e. the individual level, the population level and the community/ecosystem/landscape level. The clips were made for an MSc course on chemical stress ecology and ecotoxicology. They are not made professionally nor comprehensive covering the whole field of science, just used as background material.

Levels of biological organisation

Individual level
Clip 1: Toxicokinetic / toxicodynamic modelling
Clip 2: Effects of chemicals at the individual level
Clip 3: Predicting sensitivity of aquatic invertebrates
Population level
Clip 4: Effects of imidacloprid on aquatic populations
Clip 5: Studying recovery using microcosm and mesocosms
Clip 6: Model complexity in population recovery modelling
Community/ecosystem/landscape level
Clip 7: Microcosm and mescosm experiments
Clip 8: Effects of horizontal an vertical biodiversity
Clip 9: Landscape level modelling
